LIVING INTENTIONALLY: 3 Keys to Align with God’s Calling This Year
God does not call us to merely survive. He calls us to live with intention.
Let’s revisit the 3 keys to an intentional life and begin 2026 with:
clarity in our vision, confidence in our identity, alignment with our calling, and readiness to take action in faith.
1. Vision & Clarity
Fix Your Eyes on the Goal (Philippians 3:14)
Even in difficult circumstances, a clear vision remains possible when our eyes are fixed on Christ. Biblical vision is an intentional pursuit of God’s calling.
It is not a life left to chance, but a chosen, aligned, and persevering direction.
Key Truths
1️⃣ Vision requires clear direction
We do not run aimlessly.
Where your eyes are fixed, your energy follows.
A clear vision does not remove obstacles, but it enables us to move forward despite them.
2️⃣ The true goal is alignment with God’s calling
It is not personal ambition, but a faithful, fruitful, and aligned life here on earth and for eternity.
3️⃣ Clarity comes through movement, not stagnation
We grow into the person capable of carrying what God desires to accomplish, making aligned decisions one step at a time.
5 Practices That Bring Clarity
-
Create sacred space
Slow down, disconnect, and make room to hear God. -
Learn from the past and release it
Review the year, discern, forgive, and leave behind what no longer serves in order to move forward freely. -
Choose rest and silence
Rest clears confusion.
Revelation comes in stillness, not in noise. -
Stay open to the new
God creates new things, even in deserts.
Dreams awaken desire; vision gives direction. - Take action
Clarity comes while walking.
God lights the next step, not the entire path.
Active obedience reveals what comes next.
2. Confidence & Identity
Be Rooted in Who You Are (Ephesians 2:10)
Five principles for moving from fear to boldness, from frozen to fruitful.
1️⃣ Confidence is personal
It is not about becoming someone else.
It grows when you know in whom you place your trust.
2️⃣ Intimidation attacks identity
Its goal is to silence you, paralyze you, and pull you away from your calling.
It produces fear, confusion, passivity, and stagnation.
3️⃣ Repeated lies are the main strategy
Negative thoughts aim to make you abandon your authority.
Naming the lie is the first step to breaking free.
4️⃣ Identity is strengthened by truth
Biblical “I am” affirmations renew the mind and restore confidence.
5️⃣ Obedience breaks fear
Confidence grows when you act in faith, even with fear present.
Steps of obedience create momentum and authority.
3. Action & Momentum
1️⃣ Radical responsibility means fully embracing, with humility and determination, the authority, responsibility, and influence God entrusts to us. It is the bold commitment to take ownership of our lives and choices, with their consequences, while surrendering to God’s absolute sovereignty.
2️⃣ Divine potential is the imprint of God’s omnipotence placed within us as His creation. It is the latent capacity for greatness woven into our being, bearing His image. The word potential comes from potentia, meaning power or strength. It refers to the often untapped ability, strength, and capacity to act and become all we are called to be.
3️⃣ Establish a strategic growth plan for the year.
Turn your key steps into goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART).
Then break each annual goal into quarterly steps.
God invites you to live this year with intention. Fix your eyes on Him, be rooted in your identity, and move forward in faith toward the calling He has prepared for you.
